After extensive testing we have found the Petzl Attache 3D locking carabiner to be one of the best lightweight locking carabiners we have used. Bruce, Amy, and I had a wonderful day of ski mountaineering on Potosi Peak in the Sneffels Range yesterday. Our 5-hour round trip climb and ski descent included a climb of the West face of Potosi Peak (finishing on the SE side of the summit pyramid), a ski descent of the North couloir, a short climb back up to the lowest Potosi/Teakettle saddle, and then a final ski descent of an unnamed South facing couloir to the car. It was an outstanding ski mountaineering tour!
